The 800m is the longest distance to start in separate lanes. It has been contested at the Olympics since 1896 for men and 1928 for women.

Athletes whose performances scored points for their nominated centre are bolded. Due to the memorial nature of the event, an athlete may sometimes compete as a guest for a centre, rather than being a member but it is expected that actual members will compete for their affiliated centre.
